It took longer than it used to for the drugs to kick in. Always the problem once you build a habit. Still, they’re working now. I feel warm and detached. Far from the torments of the past. Maybe more distant from those torments would be a better description. I can hear some shallow bitch in the distance talking on the phone, it’s a bit distracting because I think I used to talk to her. Something in her tone reminds of better feelings. Someone I once knew and cared about perhaps. I suppose it doesn’t matter now. Just got to roll with the moment. Let the chemicals sooth the deep seated turmoil and try and get some sleep.
