Fall Of The Leaf

from Sin Bowl Sonata by Dark Ofay Din

/

about

Based on the poem: The Lazy Mist by Robert Burns

lyrics

The lazy mist hangs from the brow of the hill
Concealing the course of the dark winding rill
How languid the scenes, late so sprightly, appear
As Autumn to Winter resigns the pale year

The forests are leafless, the meadows are brown
And all summer's hues are deep underground
Apart let me wander, apart let me muse
How quick time is flying, how keen Fate pursues

How long have I lived? How much lived in vain?
How much of this life is yet to remain?
What aspects of time left me burnt out and worn?
Which cruel twists of Fate left my heart feeling torn?

How foolish we are, 'til our summit is gained
Then downwards we go, Oh so weakened and pained
Seems life's not worth having with all it can give
When there's no turning back and no will to forgive.
