Sino Knot

from Sin Bowl Sonata by Dark Ofay Din

about

She never said a word. Always silent. Yet she made me understand everything with the slightest of gestures. Every morning she would paint her face white then draw on an ornate black mask to tell me what her mood was. With touch and glance she whispered her mind in to mine. It was a gentle understanding that removed me from my past experiences. For a short time at least.
I found her out in the wilderness one afternoon. I had ventured out there to get away from the tension of the city and for a more practical reason that shall remain untold. After about an hour of climbing rocks and weaving through dense vegetation I arrived at a small plateau surrounded by trees. She was standing motionless at it’s very centre looking right at me as if she had been expecting me. The long white dress she wore rippled rhythmically in the breeze. As I stepped out in to the open she began to sway her arms slowly. Raising them to shoulder height to one side then to the other. Her movement remained constant and fluid as I advanced towards her. About three steps away from her, she swayed to a halt and I stopped in my tracks. Everything was so quiet the breeze became audible then she glided towards me and I nearly stepped back. She reached out her arm and took my wrist. Raising my hand between us both she placed a small red Chinese knot in my palm then tilted her head slightly. Looking up at me I think she smiled as she folded my fingers closed and pulled me to follow her.
We had thirteen days together from that day. Then fate caught up with me and I had to become a ghost to the life I had wished in to existence.
